PRP for Toronto Patients: Skin, Under-Eyes and Hair
Platelet-rich plasma is the regenerative option for patients who want improvement without volume or foreign material: crepey under-eyes, dull skin, thinning hair. It works when it is prepared properly and injected by someone who knows the anatomy. Dr. Mazzuca does both.

What this covers
What PRP does and does not do
A small amount of your blood is drawn, spun to concentrate the platelets, and the plasma is injected where you need repair. The growth factors released improve skin thickness, texture and blood supply over weeks to months, and in pattern hair loss they thicken miniaturised hairs and slow shedding. It does not add volume, so it does not carry the risks of filler, and there is nothing in it that is not already yours.
What it will not do is fill a deep hollow, lift a heavy jowl or regrow hair from a scalp that has been bare for years. Patients who are told otherwise in Toronto clinics are the ones who arrive here disappointed. The honest use cases are below.
The three Toronto requests
Under-eyes
The most common. Thin, crepey, darkened under-eye skin that makes filler a poor choice responds well to two to three PRP sessions a month apart. The skin thickens and the purple tint softens. It is often the first recommendation for patients whose under-eye complaint is skin quality rather than a hollow, and it can be combined with conservative filler where there is a true trough. The three under-eye problems are separated in this article.
Hair
For early to moderate pattern thinning in men and women, a course of three to four sessions a month apart, then maintenance every four to six months, produces a measurable increase in density and thickness in most patients. It works best alongside minoxidil or oral therapy, not instead of them, and bloodwork is reviewed first to rule out iron, thyroid or other treatable causes. Skin
Injected or combined with microneedling, PRP improves overall skin quality, fine lines and the dullness that comes with collagen loss. Results are gradual and natural; nobody will ask what you had done.
PRP or PRF?
Platelet-rich fibrin is spun more slowly without anticoagulant, forms a gel that releases growth factors over a longer period, and contains more white cells and stem cells. It is often preferred for under-eyes and for combining with hyaluronic acid. PRP is more liquid and better suited to scalp injection over a large area. Dr. Mazzuca offers both and chooses based on the site. The full comparison is in PRP or PRF?

Getting here from Toronto
The clinic is at Woodbine and Major Mackenzie in Markham, about 35 to 45 minutes from downtown via the DVP and 404, with free parking. A PRP appointment is about an hour including the blood draw, and there is no visible downtime beyond mild swelling for a day, so it fits around a workday. Frequently asked questions
How much is PRP in Toronto at this clinic?
PRP for skin and under-eyes is $600 per session and PRP for hair loss is $450 per session. Courses are two to four sessions depending on the area, booked one at a time.
Does PRP work for under-eye dark circles?
It improves the thickness and quality of thin, crepey under-eye skin and softens the purple tint from visible vessels, over two to three sessions. It does not fill a deep hollow; that is assessed separately.
What is the difference between PRP and PRF?
PRF is spun more slowly without anticoagulant, forms a fibrin gel and releases growth factors over a longer period, so it is often preferred for under-eyes. PRP is more liquid and suits scalp injection. Dr. Mazzuca chooses based on the treatment site.
Is there downtime after PRP?
Minimal. Mild swelling and pinpoint marks for about a day. Scalp PRP leaves the scalp tender for a day; you can wash your hair the next morning.
How far is the clinic from Toronto?
