Quick answer

Morpheus8 in Markham at Dr. Monique Mazzuca Aesthetics starts at $733 per session and is performed personally by a licensed physician (MD, CCFP) at 200 Cachet Woods Court, Suite 309, in a 60-minute appointment. It combines microneedling with radiofrequency energy released beneath the skin surface, which remodels collagen to firm mild to moderate laxity and improve acne scars, texture and fine lines. Numbing cream is used, most patients have 1 to 3 sessions spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart, and downtime is typically 2 to 5 days of redness, swelling and small grid marks. Results build over about three months and often last a year or longer with maintenance. New patients start with the $50 Comprehensive Aesthetic Consultation.

What Morpheus8 is

Morpheus8® by InMode is a fractional radiofrequency (RF) microneedling device. A handpiece with a small grid of very fine needles enters the skin to a depth Dr. Mazzuca sets, then releases a brief pulse of radiofrequency energy from the needle tips. Each pulse creates dozens of tiny columns of controlled heat in the dermis and, at deeper settings, the fibrous tissue just beneath it, while the surface of the skin between the needles is left largely intact.

It belongs to the same family as SkinPen microneedling, but the addition of heat is what changes the result. Standard microneedling works mainly on the surface qualities of the skin (texture, pores, scars, glow). Morpheus8 does that too, and because it heats the deeper layers it can also address early loosening along the jawline, the lower face and the neck.

How Morpheus8 works

Collagen and elastin are what keep skin firm and springy. Both decline steadily from early adulthood, and sun exposure, acne and inflammation accelerate the loss. Morpheus8 works on that problem in two ways at once. The needles create a controlled micro-injury, the same signal that drives regular microneedling. The radiofrequency heat then causes existing collagen fibres to contract and starts a longer healing response, in which the skin lays down new collagen and elastin over the following weeks and months.

Depth and energy are adjusted zone by zone. Thinner skin on the forehead and around the eyes is treated more superficially and gently; thicker areas such as the lower cheeks, jawline and neck can be treated deeper. Dr. Mazzuca also adjusts settings to your skin tone, the thickness of your skin and how much natural volume you have. Because most of the energy is delivered below the surface rather than through it, RF microneedling is generally considered suitable for a wider range of skin tones than many resurfacing lasers, provided the settings are chosen carefully.

Morpheus8 in Markham: what it treats

Skin laxityFine linesAcne scarringTexture and uneven tone
  • Mild to moderate skin laxity: a softening jawline, early jowling, loosening skin on the lower face and the neck.
  • Fine lines and crepiness on the cheeks, around the mouth and, with gentler settings, around the eyes where appropriate.
  • Acne scarring, particularly rolling and boxcar scars. Deep or tethered scars often need a combined plan; see the acne scarring page.
  • Texture and enlarged pores, including the rough, uneven surface left by years of sun or breakouts.
  • Uneven tone and dullness as part of overall skin quality. Distinct brown spots and redness usually respond better to Lumecca IPL.

Morpheus8 is not a substitute for a facelift. Heavy jowls, significant neck sagging and a lot of loose skin are surgical problems, and lost volume (hollow temples, flattened cheeks) is better addressed with filler or Sculptra and Radiesse. Dr. Mazzuca will tell you honestly if your concern needs a different approach.

How many Morpheus8 sessions you need

Some patients see a worthwhile improvement after one treatment, but collagen remodelling is gradual and most plans use a short series. Typical recommendations:

GoalSessionsSpacing
Texture, pores, fine lines1 to 34 to 6 weeks apart
Mild to moderate laxity (jawline, neck)2 to 34 to 6 weeks apart
Acne scarring3, sometimes more4 to 6 weeks apart
Maintenance1Every 6 to 12 months

These are general ranges. Your plan depends on your skin, your goals and how you respond to the first session, and it is confirmed at your consultation.

How much Morpheus8 costs in Markham

Morpheus8 with Dr. Mazzuca starts at from $733 per session, booked as a 60-minute appointment. As an illustration only, a series of three sessions at the starting price would be from about $2,199. Treating additional areas such as the neck, or combining Morpheus8 with other treatments, changes the price and is quoted before anything is booked. After a series, many patients maintain their result with one session every six to twelve months.

New patients begin with the $50 Comprehensive Aesthetic Consultation (30 minutes), or a $20 virtual consultation if you are outside the area. Morpheus8 is a cosmetic treatment and is not covered by OHIP.

Who Morpheus8 is for, and who should wait

Morpheus8 suits adults who want firmer, smoother skin without surgery and who are comfortable with a few days of visible recovery. The best candidates usually have mild to moderate laxity, acne scars or textural concerns, realistic expectations about a gradual change, and enough natural volume that tightening, rather than filling, is what the face needs. Many patients are in their thirties to sixties, but suitability depends on the skin, not the age.

Dr. Mazzuca will review your history before recommending it. Treatment is postponed or avoided if you are pregnant or breastfeeding; have a pacemaker, defibrillator or other implanted electronic device; have metal implants in the treatment area; have active acne, cold sores, eczema, psoriasis or an infection in the area; have a history of keloid or raised scarring; have taken isotretinoin (Accutane) recently; have a bleeding disorder or take blood thinners; have a fresh tan or sunburn; or have a condition or medication that affects healing, such as poorly controlled diabetes or some autoimmune conditions. If you have recently had filler or other procedures in the same area, timing will be discussed. If you are prone to cold sores, a preventive antiviral can be prescribed.

What the appointment is like

  1. Assessment and plan. Dr. Mazzuca examines your skin, confirms the areas to treat, the depth and energy plan and the price before starting.
  2. Numbing. Your skin is cleansed and a topical anaesthetic cream is applied, usually for around 30 minutes or longer depending on the areas. The clinic will let you know if you should arrive early.
  3. Treatment. The handpiece is pressed against the skin and fires in a series of passes across each zone. Most patients feel a prickling heat with each pulse, more noticeable over bony areas such as the jawline, upper lip and forehead. The face typically takes 20 to 30 minutes of treatment time.
  4. Calm and protect. A soothing product is applied and you leave with written aftercare. Expect to look flushed, as if sunburned, with a faint grid pattern of tiny marks.

Results: when you see them and how long they last

Many patients notice a tighter, plumper look within the first few days, but part of that early change is swelling and it settles. The real change comes from new collagen, which typically becomes visible from about three to four weeks and keeps improving for around three months, with some patients seeing continued refinement for up to six months after their final session. Improvement is gradual and natural-looking, which is consistent with Dr. Mazzuca's approach of refreshing rather than transforming.

Results commonly last a year or longer, because the collagen built is your own tissue. The skin keeps ageing, though, so most patients choose a maintenance session every six to twelve months. Daily sunscreen, not smoking and a sensible skincare routine with a retinoid help protect the result.

Downtime, side effects and risks

Day 0 to 1: redness, warmth, tightness and swelling, often more noticeable under the eyes and along the jaw, with a faint grid of pinpoint marks. Day 2 to 4: redness fades to pink; the skin may feel dry and sandpapery, and the tiny marks may form small crusts. Day 5 to 7: most patients look close to normal. Makeup is usually possible after 24 to 48 hours, as advised. Plan important events at least one to two weeks after treatment.

Common, temporary effects include redness, swelling, tenderness, pinpoint marks, dryness, flaking, small bruises and a brief flare of breakouts or milia. Less common effects include redness or grid marks that last longer than a week, a cold sore outbreak in people who are prone, and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (darkening), which is more likely in deeper skin tones and with sun exposure, and usually fades over weeks to months with sun protection and skincare.

Rare but more serious risks include burns or blistering, infection and scarring. Because the device heats tissue under the skin, Dr. Mazzuca is deliberately cautious with depth and energy in thin skin and in faces that are already lean. Contact the clinic promptly if you develop blisters, increasing pain, spreading redness, discharge or a fever.

Aftercare

  • For 24 hours: keep the skin clean, use only the gentle cleanser and moisturizer recommended, and avoid exercise, sweating, hot showers, saunas and swimming.
  • Sleep with your head slightly raised on the first night to reduce swelling.
  • For about 5 to 7 days: no retinoids, vitamin C, acids, scrubs or other exfoliants, and no waxing, threading or other facial procedures.
  • For at least 2 weeks: strict sun avoidance and a mineral sunscreen SPF 30 or higher every day.
  • Do not pick or scratch the small crusts or flaking skin; let them shed on their own.
  • Resume your normal routine when the skin has fully settled, or when Dr. Mazzuca advises.

The short version: if your main concern is surface texture, pores or mild scarring with as little downtime as possible, SkinPen may be enough. If you want firmness as well, Morpheus8 is the stronger tool. Forma is a gentler, no-downtime option that is often used between Morpheus8 sessions or to maintain results. If the jawline and neck are the main concern, see neck and jawline rejuvenation, where Morpheus8 may be one part of a combined plan. Wrinkle relaxers such as Botox address expression lines, which Morpheus8 does not. Dr. Mazzuca will sequence combined treatments, usually on separate visits.

Why patients choose a physician

At this clinic the person assessing you and the person treating you are the same person, and that person is a licensed physician. Dr. Mazzuca is an MD with CCFP certification in family medicine and additional training in cosmetic medicine, facial anatomy, women's health, and longevity medicine. Treatment is not delegated.

Her stated approach is to emphasise "subtle, elegant results that refresh rather than transform, using the least invasive treatments necessary to achieve safe, natural, and lasting outcomes."

With Morpheus8 the outcome depends heavily on judgement: which tip to use, how deep to go and how much energy each area can safely take. Those choices change with skin thickness, skin tone and facial volume, and they are the difference between a natural improvement and avoidable complications. Dr. Mazzuca also diagnoses what is actually causing your concern, since loosening, volume loss and scarring each call for different tools, and as a physician she can prescribe preventive antivirals and manage a complication herself if one occurs.

Where is the clinic located?

The clinic is at 200 Cachet Woods Court, Suite 309, Markham, Ontario L6C 0Z8, in the Cachet Woods area near Woodbine Avenue and Major Mackenzie Drive. Patients travel from Unionville, Richmond Hill, Vaughan, Aurora, Stouffville and across the Greater Toronto Area.

Does Morpheus8 hurt?

A topical numbing cream is applied first. Most patients feel a prickling heat with each pulse, stronger over bony areas such as the jawline and forehead. It is uncomfortable for short moments rather than painful for most people, and settings can be adjusted as you go.

How many Morpheus8 sessions will I need, and what does a course cost?

Most patients have 1 to 3 sessions spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart; acne scarring may need 3 or more. Each session starts at from $733, so as an illustration a series of three starts from about $2,199. Your plan and price are confirmed at your consultation.

How long do Morpheus8 results last?

Results build over about three months and commonly last a year or longer, because the new collagen is your own tissue. Skin keeps ageing, so most patients book a maintenance session every six to twelve months.

What is the downtime after Morpheus8?

Typically 2 to 5 days of redness, swelling and small grid marks, with dryness or roughness as the skin heals. Most patients look close to normal within about a week. Plan important events at least one to two weeks after treatment.

Is Morpheus8 safe for darker skin tones?

RF microneedling is generally considered suitable for a wide range of skin tones because most of the energy is delivered below the surface. There is still a risk of temporary darkening (post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation), so Dr. Mazzuca adjusts settings for your skin, may recommend preparing the skin beforehand, and strict sun protection afterwards is essential.

Can I combine Morpheus8 with Botox or filler?

Yes, and many plans do. Morpheus8 improves skin quality and firmness, Botox softens expression lines and filler restores volume. Dr. Mazzuca usually schedules them on separate visits in a sequence that suits your plan, rather than on the same day.
